Dark Horse Books: Critical sensation Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw Reviews

Coming soon from Dark Horse Books: Critical sensation Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw Reviews (The Escapist Zero Punctuation) brings his caustic wit for his signature novel, Mogworld.

Mogworld, a comic fantasy novel with a twist, is the story of Jim, who, sixty years after the death in an accident magical school, was snatched from life by a renegade necromancer. All Jim wants to die is correct, once and for all, is not an easy task for a minor character in a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game).

Croshaw of Zero Punctuation reviews animation, that the prophetic critique animation package with frantic, off-color humor, and a rapid fire delivery, made him a household name in the gaming community. Although Croshaw has covered a lot of creative and critical ground in his short career, before Punctuation Zero, has earned a reputation as an independent game designer and blogger, and has recently produced the pilot for a TV series, against Game-Mogworld is his first foray into fiction published.

"I love Zero Punctuation, Yahtzee and I had asked us to pitch a book for the games," says editor Mogworld Rachel Edidin. "The last thing I expected was a draft novel! And the next thing I knew, I was bringing home the manuscript with me, not ending, but because I had to see what happened next."

Croshaw says, "I tried to write novels ever since I read Hitchhiker’s Guide to the age of eight years, so this is a deal big enough for me, and I am very happy to work with Dark Horse on this. Mogworld is a ’idea I have kicked around since those dark, unproductive three months I spent playing World of Warcraft. It’ a little ’cynical take on MMOs and the standard Tolkien’ fantasy ’setting. "

Mogworld is announced in conjunction with the appearance Croshaw’s first stateside show this weekend Gamex in Philadelphia. Mogworld is set to arrive on shelves in August 2010.
