Born with the face of an angel, Marget Barnardsen is blessed. His father is a gentleman, and now she married the Count of Lytham. Your destination is guaranteed … At least, it would be well. But when his presentation to the court is wrong and Queen Elizabeth despises her, Marget fears that lost her husband forever. Desperate to win him back, we will do whatever is necessary to discover how it and do not capture the new love of a man linked to the queen.

Review:
In the court of Queen Elizabeth beauty is a curse, friendship is bought and sold, and true love is the unpardonable sin. Marget was any risk to the man who captured her heart?

A historical constant Heart is fiction at its finest. Siri Mitchell effectively transports the reader back through time to experience Elizabethan England.

Never wonder what a woman would start again in front of a few centimeters or paint her face white, ruining under the skin? When the character Marget attends court, she was asked the same until it is rejected. Peer pressure and worked in 1500 as it does today.

Instead of my usual reaction to relegate women to the status of the Neanderthals, Siri Mitchell of the characterization not only gave me a clear understanding of empathy, but also for the hard choices that these women had to do.

I think the message of this novel is best summarized in the character of Joan when he says, “If you try to be anyone else, then that’s the worst that can happen, because you cannot ever be them, and then you give up.”Teens are not the only ones who need this reminder, especially in today’s world of competition.

What I liked most about Mitchell’s writing is his attention to detail. This was showcased in his stunning and sometimes shocking explanation of the lead paint used in women Elizabeth of the court and the devastation they caused to their bodies. She’s obviously done his research, but manages to avoid giving lessons in her stories with finesse.

A steady Heart is a great read that raises a wide range of emotions. I’m putting on my list of favorites, and once you’ve read, I am sure that you, too.
